Kid's pop-music artist, Alison Faith Levy, has taken a break from the kindie psychedelic rock 'n roll circus for kids called The Sippy Cups and work in the "grown-up" music venue to return to her roots and create a delightful solo album designed just for kids age 2-8 (and their parents, of course), called World of Wonder (Mystery Lawn Music, 2012).
The songs on the World of Wonder album speak perfectly to children--in a sound and language they relate to. The lyrics encourage kids (and adults) to discover and be amazed by how wonderful the world around them can be. She combines familiar music with new lyrics with relate-able subjects.
My 5 year old, is a music lover and he gets quite a kick out of Alison Faith Levy's World of Wonder. I think the fact that the lyrics are so kid-typical (you can totally hear my child saying and doing some of the things she talks about in the songs). The music is fresh and fun and very adult tolerable (at least in my opinion). It's much more pop-rockish rather than nursery rhyme that I tend to tire of fairly quickly.
Cute lyrics, fun music! World of Wonder is sure to be a hit with the children in your life!
