World of Wonder

World of Wonder

A drop of water may contain
A multitude of miniscule
Fragments of the drop of water
Splashing round inside
The multitude of miniscule
Fragments of the drop of water
Contained therein

A grain of sand may contain
A thousand sparkling bits of glass
Reflecting all the light contained
Within the thousand sparkling bits of glass
Inside a tiny grain of sand

A nebula may contain
A million stars exploding
In a gaseous cloud of colors
A billion light years from the nebula
That contains a million stars exploding

The fingernail may contain
The secret to existence
In its cracked and dirty surface
In its simple mundane shell
That we nibble, gnaw and clip away

The world of wonder is fleeting
Get a good look while you can
Hold a mirror up to a mirror and
See the infinite stretch out before you
It’s easy if you try
The world of wonder is right before your eyes
